Financial Policy

Our doctor and staff feel strongly that the recommended dental procedures you choose will be one of the most valuable financial investments you can ever make.  We are proud to be a team dedicated to providing the finest and most comprehensive care available. We understand financial pressures and strive to make the treatment you need affordable by keeping our fees reasonable and working with your insurance.  In order to assist you with your dental health investment, our financial policy is outlined below.

Dental Insurance

We are happy to work with you and your insurance, however, our treatment recommendations are determined by your oral health needs, not by your insurance policy. Dr. Wint is an in-network provider with Delta, Aetna and certain plans associated with Guardian and Assurant.  If you have any concerns about your particular plan, it is best for you to call your insurance provider directly.  For all patients being seen for an initial examination and for all surgical procedures, our financial coordinator will work with you to maximize your insurance benefits.  For all in-network insurance claims, we will collect only the estimated patient share at the time of service.  For out -of -network claims, we will collect only your estimated portions for examinations and surgeries providing adequate information was given by your insurance company representative.  If you have an out-of-network insurance policy, there is often very little, if any, financial penalty to you.  Once the doctor prescribes a treatment plan, our financial coordinator wil provide you with an estimate of your out of pocket expenses. If you would like, we will be happy to submit written pre-treatment determinations to your insurance company prior to beginning treatment.

If you have secondary insurance, we will file the secondary claim for you, but your co-pay share will be based solely on the primary insurance dental plan.

Payment Options

For your convenience, we are happy to accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express.  We also accept personal checks and cash.  For those of you who prefer outside financing, we work with Care Credit, which is one of the nation's leading patient payment programs.  Once approved, Care Credit allows you to finance up to 100% of your dental care without upfront costs, annual fees or pre-payment penalty.  In most instances, there is no interest if paid in full within 12 months.  Please ask our financial coordinator for additional details about Care Credit.

For all procedures, our policy is that your portion of the payment is due at the time of service.  We do not offer any in house financing plans.  If you are a maintenence patient (cleanings) and your insurance is an out-of-network policy, we wil collect the entire fee at the time of service.  We will, however, file your insurance claim and assign benefits to you so any insurance checks will come directly to you.

We understand that insurance and financial considerations are not only very important, but can also be very confusing.  Please feel free to call the office with any questions.

Patient Safety
We take patient safety very seriously and adhere to the highest professional standards of cleanliness, sterilization, and radiation control. Our staff regularly attend safety seminars and are quite knowledgeable on the latest techniques.

Sterilization
We know that preventing the spread of infectious diseases such as AIDS, herpes, hepatitis and even the cold virus is critical and our team takes sterilization very seriously. We use extensive sterilization procedures, going well beyond the guidelines recommended by the American Dental Association and Centers for Disease Control.

We use barrier techniques such as disposable masks and gloves and replace them for each patient. Each piece of fixed operatory equipment is wiped-down with antibacterial solution prior to every clinical procedure. Sterile water delivery systems are utilized. We use autoclave and chemiclave sterilization for all instruments prior to dental examination and treatment. You can be assured that our staff have been specifically trained on sterilization procedures and their importance.

Antibiotic Pre-medication
Patients with certain medical conditions (e.g. valvular heart conditions and artificial joints) may be asked to pre-medicate with antibiotics prior to treatment. We do this with your safety in mind. Please inform us if you have a condition that might need pre-medication.

Post Treatment Instructions
After treatment, home care and medication instructions will be thoroughly explained. For your convenience, you will also be given printed instructions. Of course, we are always available for questions before and after treatment.

Patient Comfort
We go to extraordinary lengths to ensure our patients are as comfortable as possible during dental procedures.
